This works much better than the suction cup mounts which always seem to fall. My only complaint is that with time the bottom becomes smooth, rather than “friction-y” causing the unit to slide around the dashboard, making it unusable. In fairness, this occurred after two years of sitting on my dashboard, often parked in the hot sun. I have not found a more durable/functional mounting solution for my garmin.

I enjoyed this book but did not feel it quite lived up to the high ratings I based my purchase on. Part of its appeal was the promise of a circus story. And the story was very realistic in some ways, detailing how difficult and unrewarding (not to mention very dangerous)that life could be.

Some of the most interesting and moving parts of the book were actually those that took place in the nursing home that Jacob now lives in, remembering his youth with the circus. The author did a great job in describing the sadness, loneliness and other problems that befall the very aged. Especially those nearly forgotten by their families. Their cold treatment at the hands of people who barely see these elderly souls as human is all too real, having witnessed this myself when working in this type of facility. And another reason why I got out of nursing.

The love story was so-so, and years were wrapped up too quickly, at least for my taste. I looked forward to more stories of Jacob as the circus veterinarian. There was alot of potential there for interesting and moving stories about the animals, but that aspect was barely touched upon. Rather it was more about Jacob’s obsession with the beautiful Marlena.

I loved many of the interesting characters, but always felt I did not quite know them in spite of their frequent appearances throughout the story. Walter the dwarf as an example. He was one of my favorite characters. I found myself wanting more of his own story, but it wasn’t there.

I would recommend this as a light summer read, but would not look for more than an interesting diversion and brief look into the world of the circus folk when the animals were still transported by train and when the circus coming to town was the biggest news of the month.
Palm Plus High Power

This card worked great for 2 months, during which time it traveled to Istanbul and New York with me. Unfortunately, halfway through my trip to New York it failed. I have been unable to use it in my camera since then, although unlike some reviewers I was able to get my photos off of the card.

I love the game system, and have had no problems at all with it. I have one gripe with Nintendo though, and this is a warning to anyone new to the system (like me): the instructions are useless. I figured out more just by trial and error than by using the booklet that came with the system. Not a big deal, just a warning. Also, don’t for a minute believe amazon on the delivery time-they are full of it. I ordered it with basic shipping, I wasn’t in a hurry, HOWEVER, waiting 5 business days just to fulfill my order is ridiculous. I can guarantee that if I paid for the express shipping, I wouldn’t have received it by the time they guaranteed. How do I know this? Because once packed, it only took 3 days to ship, which has never happened before. A big deal? maybe not, but I wnated to warn anyone who was buying this as a gift.
Maxxis High Roller Mountain

I ordered this for my health class to show some up close stuff and it is a pretty cool little device! Well worth the $40, instructions are a little sketchy but you don’t really need them, it is pretty easy to set up. No problems adjusting magnification for me and it appears it can also be used to display text from books up on an overhead projector also.
GSI High Definition Scientific

I’ve used this SD card for several weeks now and it’s worked as advertised. The card has been used primarily in an HD video camera recording in 1080p, so it was important for it to have a fast transfer rate. I haven’t had any issues with the card. It’s been very reliable!

This thing is amazing. If you look at their website you’ll see a video example of how it works. It’s no lie, it really removes all that fur. The thing is that my dog seems to love it. It’s pricey but worth it, especially if you can get a good deal for it. Word of advise, don’t try to save by getting one that’s smaller than the one listed for your dog.

I purchased this GPS watch to track my runs for an upcoming half marathon. Not only is it easy to use, but it has many additional features that have helped me improve my times. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to track their runs accurately and in real-time.

I was impressed with the reviews prior to purchase. The HJ-112 is impressive and appears durable. I have had it about three weeks and use it every other day on an indoor measured track. The steps appear to be accurate enough, but the mile measure, even after numerous recalibrations IAW the instructions, does not measure very close. This is disturbing as I had planned to use it for distance tracking. I would recommend it only for steps, and that said, I would not buy another just for that purpose.

Amazing how quickly these devices become “indispensable”. Incredibly useful training tool, allowing one to guage intensity of effort and track progress over time. My only major knock on the Garmin is it’s longevity. I’ve had 4 units over the last few years. There seems to occur some malfunction or other when the unit is about 18-20 months old. The tech support people are very helpful in attempting to resolve the issue on-line, but I have invariably had to ship the unit to Kansas for exchange. The last problem was data transmission to the pc. Before that, on two occasions the unit just wouldn’t power up. Still, I really enjoy using it.
